Cookies and local storage
LearnOS uses browser storage where it is needed to keep accounts secure, remember essential session information and support a smoother learning experience.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a website in a browser. Similar browser technologies, including local storage, can also remember information between pages or visits.
2. Essential storage
LearnOS may use essential cookies or similar storage for authentication, security, session continuity, subscription access and other functions required for the service to work.
For example, authentication cookies can help LearnOS recognise a signed-in account as the learner moves between protected pages.
3. Preferences and onboarding
LearnOS may temporarily save information in browser storage to preserve an unfinished onboarding flow or remember interface preferences. This helps prevent a learner from losing progress if a page is refreshed.
4. Payment providers
When a customer moves to a secure external payment page, the payment provider may use its own cookies or similar technologies to operate checkout, prevent fraud and process the transaction. Those technologies are governed by that provider's own notices.
5. Optional analytics or marketing cookies
If LearnOS introduces non-essential analytics, advertising or marketing cookies, appropriate information and controls should be provided before those technologies are used where consent is required.
6. Managing browser storage
Most browsers allow users to view, block or delete cookies. Blocking essential cookies may prevent sign-in, subscription checks or other important LearnOS features from working.
7. Questions
If you have questions about cookies or browser storage used by LearnOS, contact support.
