Accessibility
Learning should be easier to access
LearnOS aims to make navigation, teaching content, controls and learner support usable across a wide range of devices, abilities and learning needs.
1. Our approach
LearnOS is being designed with readable typography, clear navigation, responsive layouts, keyboard-friendly controls and meaningful structure so learners can use the service on desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile.
2. Accessible learning experiences
Teaching should use more than one way to explain important ideas where appropriate, including text, visual models, worked examples, guided practice and clear feedback.
3. Visual design and readability
LearnOS aims to use sufficiently large text, clear spacing, understandable selected states and layouts that do not overflow or cut off essential information at supported screen sizes.
4. Motion and animation
Where animations are used to explain learning, the experience should remain understandable without unnecessary motion. Reduced-motion preferences should be respected where supported.
5. Keyboard and assistive technology
Interactive controls should use appropriate HTML structure, labels and focus behaviour so the service can progressively improve compatibility with keyboards and assistive technologies.
6. Tell us about an accessibility problem
If something in LearnOS is difficult to read, navigate, understand or operate, please tell us what page you were using, what device or assistive technology you were using where relevant, and what went wrong.
